DB9 Clear Rear lights. The Aston Martin DB9 was launched with red rear lights, these are all LED, except for the incandescent reversing light which can’t be replaced. The main issue with these lights is condensation which can affect the LEDs and their driver circuits. The same can happen on the clear lights.
When the DBS was launched it had clear tail lights, and later DB9s also had clear rear lights. The clear lights are a simple plug in replacement for the red lights
I’m thinking of fitting clear lights on my 2005 DB9 coupe, but have heard thar this would need the ECU reflashing. Did you get this done, or did you find that you didn’t need to? Regards, Phil
Hi Phil,
Changing to Clear lights is just plug and play, there is no difference in the electronics between the red and the clear lenses, so no need to reflash the ECU. I switched to Syqential rear lights as well and again there is no need to flash the ECU
Thanks for that Paul. Time to raid the piggy bank then!
