Aston Martin DB9 Automatic Full glass switch set

Aston Martin Custom Glass Switches

Posted on April 18, 2025August 7, 2025 by Paul

Aston Martin Custom Glass Switches. When The Aston Martin DB9 was launched in 2004 it was met with almost universal acclaim, with only a few negative comments, one recurring comment was that the switchgear looked very cheap and nasty. In 2012 Aston Martin introduced “Glass switches”, these looked much better than the original plastic switches. The original Heated screen switches below next to glass fog light switches.

However because Aston Martin updated the centre Console for MY2009 and moved/changed a lot of the switches some switches are not available as upgrades from Aston Martin.

  • Air Conditioning
  • Air Recirculation
  • Hazard lights
  • Heated Rear Screen
  • Heated Front Screen
  • Petrol Flap
  • Reduced Guard Alarm

As the car looks rather daft with half the switches updated to glass and half plastic I decided to modify them myself.

These are now available to purchase

I’ve sent you an email, what car do you have? You don’t need hazards, fogs and parking?

      Hi Tim,

Although I could send these to you, these are available from Aston Martin, I produce the ones that Aston Martin have never made, so it would probably be cheaper for you to buy these direct.

      Hi Kerry,

I assume your car is a DB9, what year is it as the sport button changes?

The heated mirrors come on automatically with the heated rear window, the one that you think is mirrors is actually heated front screen.

      Also sent you an email.

      Regards

      Hi Kerry,

2008 onwards has the buttons for seat release. If you want to send me the 3 (or 2) blank buttons that will reduce the price significantly, let me know and I’ll work out a price.

    Hello Paul,
I’ve just purchased a USA left hand drive 2007 DB9 Volante (Toro Red with Sandstone). I have replaced most of the buttons that were available on eBay with the glass. But I am in need of the following:
    Rear demister/heated rear
    A/C
    Recirculate
    Glove box button
    Gas release
And…. Would love to have the red custom Start button, if available.
Would you be able to quote me a price including shipping to Las Veags, NV 89178 for all the above?
Truly appreciate it. Love your website and enjoy reading all the upgrades.
    Thanks
    Shawn

      Hi Shawn,

      Thank you for the comments.

      I have sent you an email but just a couple of questions;

Do you already have a glass hazard light switch?
Do you want a decal on the glovebox switch?
Can you explain exactly what you mean by the red custom start button?

      Regards

      Paul

Good afternoon. I never received your email. I’ll check my spam folder.
I purchased a glass hazard button from a later model, but have not a chance to see if it fits yet.
What decal could you place on the glove box?
I was referring to the custom Start button you made on another page here that was had red lights. It was really nice looking. I was wondering if I could get one of those also.
        Thanks
        Shawn

          Hi Shawn,

I’ll try again with the email.

The hazard switch is obviously from a vanquish/Rapide or a DB9 GT, I have never tried one of these but the bezel is a very different design to the other glass switches.

I’ve just checked and there is no illumination feed to the glove box switch so pointless doing a decal without wiring.

All the start switches should illuminate red when the ignition is on and the car us ready to start, other wise they illuminate white only when the courtesy lights are on, if yours is not lighting up red when you are starting the car then I assume your switch is faulty. The mod I do now to the start switch is change the background from metallic silver to black to match the rest of the glass buttons

          Paul

Good afternoon Paul. Yes the hazard switch was sent in the bezel it was from. I believe a Rapide. But. The switch itself appears to be the same. I will let you know once I pull it apart. I am also waiting on the carbon fiber ski slope and center console. I am also doing the Apple CarPlay upgrade from Aston Installations with both the front and rear view cameras. Lots of upgrades planned. I just purchased the rear roll bar from an ‘08 Vantage to put on my ‘07 DB9 Volante. I bought the roll bar off eBay and the rest of the bits from Scuderia. This is going to be a fun project, concentrating mostly on the interior. The leather (Sandstorm) is a bit tired, so pulling the entire interior out and deep cleaning and conditioning it starting this weekend. Pretty excited to get started.
Please definitely try my email again as I never received it in my inbox nor my spam folder. I really want to update the remaining buttons.
            Thanks!
            Shawn
